I'm new. It shows Embarassed of course.

I didn't want the student post to be atop for my arrival and hello post but I did post there first out of staunch curiosity and to maybe becalm things a little. I moderate on another forum which is very busy indeed though has no relation to the issues here whatsovever, but the very same trolls problem persists throughout the web including there and here sometimes.

If I may be so bold as to proffer any advice on dealing with what look like trolls, it would be for regular members to completely blank them before they are duly handled by a moderator. This has become something of a speciality subject alone in my last three years or so (holy moly I need to get out more! Shocked ) but is not why I am here. That is incidental (that word again)...

My memories of Happisburgh are mostly from when I was younger and living in Bacton next door with my parents. My name is Jan, hi :waves: and my mother Maggie and boyfriend Chris had the Rocket House in Bacton up to about 1991. I was a bit of a hooligan (nothing new there) but despite that would regularly ride just out to the Happisburgh (haysboro) dunes and watch the sea. If I appear easily pleased in your mind right now, you would be right that Happisburgh is quite magical.

I also must state I am not the all knowing armchair oracle type nor am I interested here in anything but the physical coastal problems being faced by Happisburgh and North Norfolk. My father was an accomplished Danish architect and I am of little substance by comparison to date. I have worked in many fields and continue to do so as a designer/nutty creative type (delete as applicable) including perhaps the most relevant field architectural and industrial design. Unqualified, I filled the role as a humble desinger who's work was always examined and authenticated by qualified professionals as a part of the vocation.

Born in Denmark, lived there as a baby a year or so. Then got transported to Tenerife for three years. Aged five I arrived in Blakeney first with parents, then Sheringham, then Cromer, then Norwich, then Bacton, then Telford (phew!) and yes I feel positively nomadic. Sad fact is I've been in Telford since a family hiatus brought about problems in 1998/99. Since then I've been trying to work out a viable way to get back to Norfolk and maintain my 3mb or better broadband connection! Kidding aside, I consider myself `slightly' Amercianised by way of having far too many US friends. But every culture has its good points so I kinda focus on those and to heck with spelling every now and then Very Happy

I have a serious side that comes up when things get technical though and I am most interested to at least say hi here, let you all know there will be always be more people taking an active interest here. It's only natural.

To re-iterate a recent headline, `take heart Happisburgh' for you are a loved and treasured place.
