CCAG Newsletter - 09 August 2003

We are perhaps a little overdue with this newsletter - whilst it would seem there is not much happening at the moment we have been really busy and there is much going on.

To date the Prime Minister has received 1000, ONE THOUSAND, letters asking him to become involved in the Happisburgh crisis. Unfortunately it seems Mr. Blair is too busy to read any or pay any attention to our plight so they are being passed to DEFRA for reply. Many people have already had the reply from DEFRA; needless to say it is the usual bunkum! It is very, very important that we respond to these letters with a reply asking for a full and detailed explanation of the DEFRA policy and conduct in the matter of Coastal Defence. These replies should be addressed to: Elliot Morley MP. Department for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs, Nobel House, Smiths Square, London, SW1P 3JR.

While all this is going on CCAG is still going ahead with legal action but as always litigation seems to take forever.

We hope to launch our national fundraising appeal soon and Malcolm Kerby is heavily involved in obtaining charitable status with the Charities Commission, setting up banking facilities and trying to organise a national launch for our campaign when everything is in place.

Please keep writing - word on the grapevine is that the letters are beginning to have the desired effect
